The family has been making mezcal on the same property since 1910, currently led by the fourth generation of mezcaleros, Isidro Perez Escot, and his son Amador. The brand is part of Puente International, founded by Salvador Chavez, who is dedicated to creating jobs and highlighting underappreciated regions of Mexico. La Luna has evolved from a single expression mezcal to a range of expressions representing Michoacan's biodiversity. The brand is committed to creating jobs and retaining a team in rural Michoacan, paying higher than market rates to ensure long-term employment. They are working on expanding their production facilities and planning with different family farms to meet the growing demand while making a stronger human impact.
