Not my favorite but it’s got some character. I get a bit of a mineral and a hint of pepper that lingers a bit too long for my taste. But what throws me off is the alcohol bite that overpowers the rest. A bit too rough around the edges, for my taste. Good for cocktails though where you can mask that with something sweet or sour.
On the nose, I’m hit with floral and herbal aromas. I taste vanilla and citrus zest. Smooth, low smokiness. There is a lot to unpack, I like the complexity of this mezcal. Not too bold, so you can actually taste the different nuances. If you’re like me and like a subtle yet complex sip, give this one a try.
