Xicaru Mezcal, whose name means "beautiful" in Zapotec, was founded by Fernando Santibañez in Santiago Matatlan. Fernando uses his grandmother's recipe to create small batches of mezcal, showcasing a deep respect for ancestral methods. Xicaru's mezcal is cooked in a conical stone oven using native Oaxacan woods, and double-distilled in a copper alembic.
