El Tinieblo Mezcal, a brand with a rich heritage dating back to 1865, is produced on the 9,000-acre Rancho El Tinieblo in Tamaulipas, Mexico. The ranch, revived by the Peréz-Salinas family in 1986, operates much like it did in the 19th century, raising cattle, tending orange trees, and producing artisanal mezcal. El Tinieblo is committed to sustainability, planting 25 new agaves for each one harvested and housing a diverse array of local and exotic wildlife. The brand, which is completely self-reliant and uses no pesticides or insecticides, takes pride in its traditional culture, sustainable farming methods, and its role in boosting the local economy.
