This all-natural, handmade agave spirit is distilled in the rolling hills of Santiago Matatlan, Oaxaca, by siblings JJ and Frida Méndez León Jiménez, whose family has been crafting mezcal for over six generations. Rosaluna is a single-estate mezcal operation, meaning they grow their own agave plants and oversee the entire production process. The brand is carbon neutral, and their mezcal is gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan, zero carb, and plant-based. The finish is clean, with a subtle smokiness that lingers pleasantly. Rosaluna Joven is a versatile addition to any collection, suitable for both mezcal enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
It tastes a litte stronger and sharper than expected, considering it only has 40%. I’d say for the price point it’s ok, but nothing special. I wouldn’t prefer it as a sipper, especially because the texture is quite watery. There is a little fruitness/sweetness in there, but it’s very light.
