You like it smoky? That’s your mezcal. Very smoky indeed. On the more vegetal, floral, funky side thanks to the Cuishe. Very smooth as well.
The Madre Espadin is rather light and neutral/muted, and I think that might make it a good start for beginners, since it doesn’t scare you off. I get some vanilla and fruit. It’s not too smoky or too harsh either. But I’m missing some flavor and punch. Since it’s so neutral, it would be a good cocktail mezcal, so if you’re looking for a budget cocktail mixer, go for it. For sipping it’s just lacking some character for me.
