Lalocura Mezcal, founded by Eduardo "Lalo" Ángeles Carreño in 2014, is a brand that has quickly gained a cult following for its clay pot distilled mezcals. Lalo, a fourth-generation master distiller, combines his agricultural engineering knowledge with the distilling techniques he learned from his father, the late Don Lorenzo. Lalo's philosophy is to showcase the quality and characteristics of his ingredients, rather than transforming them into something new. This approach results in a mezcal that truly expresses the essence of the agaves used and the character of Santa Catarina Minas, Lalo's hometown. Notably, Lalo is as conscientious about where he sells his bottles as he is about what goes into them, making Lalocura Mezcal a unique find outside of Mexico.
