El Rey Zapoteco Añejo

"El Rey Zapoteco", one of Oaxaca's oldest artisanal mezcal brands, was founded in 1960 by Don Serafín Hernandez Blas in Santiago Matatlán. Today, the business is run by the family matriarch Doña Juana and Don Serafin’s sons. The brand stands out as one of the few mezcal brands that owns its agave fields, ensuring quality control and sustainability. For every agave harvested, five seedlings are planted. The Hernandez family are faithful stewards of traditional production techniques that remain unchanged since their founding.
