Founded in 1999, Alipus Mezcal is a project of the Destilería Los Danzantes, with a strong social focus and a commitment to elevating the quality of artisanal mezcal production. The brand works with 11 producers from six different regions, each lending their unique touch to the mezcal they produce. Alipus Mezcal is all about trust and community, with no exclusivity contracts binding their producers. This allows the brand to grow organically, inviting new producers to join the family when production reaches its peak. Alipus Mezcal is not just a drink, it's a celebration of the rich tapestry of Oaxacan culture and the dedicated artisans who pour their heart and soul into every bottle.

I don’t like all of the Alipus expressions, but San Luis is a true gem. I taste kiwi, green melon, and citrus. Unlike its cousins, this one’s got a smooth, almost creamy texture. A perfect everyday sipper, it’ll be a staple in my home bar from now on.
I had this during a mezcal tasting tour in Oaxaca and loved it. Smoky and sweet, complex profile, one of my favorite espadins in that price range!
There is surprisingly much going on for an espadin! Sweet, smoky (but not too much), pepper and fruits. Price to value ratio is on point!
