Founded in 2016, Mal Bien Mezcal is the result of a team's adventurous journey through Mexico, connecting with traditional producers and bottling their unique mezcal. The brand represents the experiences, passions, and palates of its founders, Ben and Anthony. The mezcal is produced by the Ramos family, who are the 3rd and 4th generations of mezcal producers in the Miahuatlán District of Oaxaca. They use maguey Verde (agave Rhodacantha) cooked in an underground pit oven, mashed by an ox-drawn tahona, and fermented with open-air yeasts. The mezcal is then double distilled in a copper refrescadera still. The Mal Bien team is passionate about sharing the stories behind their spirits.
